Description

Just a few minutes’ walk from Brooklyn Heights’ historic waterfront and Dumbo’s art scene, 22 Chapel is a residential tower that sits right between historic and contemporary Brooklyn with its prominently faceted facade.

To provide an air conditioning system while leaving this artistic facade untouched, the right solution was VRF + DOAS on the roof. A total of 35 Lennox Commercial VRF units were installed to offer efficient heating and cooling throughout the building, reaching 375-ton peak capacity. Unlike PTACs, VRF indoor units do not require wall louvres, so the system doesn’t interfere with the building’s exterior design and we were able to retain its clean look. Meanwhile, a 7,300 CFM Valent Air Management DOAS was also provided to draw fresh air into hallways for ventilation.
