Situated in the Spring Creek section of East New York, 20 Vital Avenue (currently under construction) will provide 123 units of affordable housing while featuring a range of sustainable elements including Passive House design and all-electric infrastructure.
Of course, the building’s HVAC system is also no exception. We paired 184 Omega VSHPs with the building’s closed loop geothermal system to achieve more efficient heating and cooling, thanks to the dedicated geothermal condenser water package in each unit. The key benefit here is that the building can now operate the 2-pipe condenser water systems without a cooling tower or boiler (or at least drastically reduce their capacity in other cases).
