As a part of NYU’s Chemical Biology Initiative that aims to develop expertise on multiple medical forefronts, the renovation of NYU’s historical Silver Center consists of a complete rebuild of its laboratory space along with a dedicated HVAC system.
We provided 1 Haakon custom air handling unit, 2 Innovent rooftop units, and also – 3 Plasticair high plume dilution fans to safely discharge the exhaust from the labs. Each fan, rated at 100HP, is built with spark-resistant fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) and comes with its own VFD. The patented nozzle design also helps draw in more ambient air to increase discharge momentum, ensuring a safe discharge distance above the roof while further diluting the exhaust.
